Danehill Dancer’s son Planteur wins World Cup prep

The Marco Botti-trained Planteur (6h Danehill Dancer-Plante Rare, by Giant’s Causeway) booked his ticket to the G1 Dubai World Cup next month when winning a Listed event at Lingfield on Saturday.

The high-class performer, who finished third in last season’s World Cup, was forced to make the running on his first outing since August and Botti believes this outing will have put him spot on for a trip to Meydan.

“We thought we probably would have to make the running, but were forced to go a stride quicker than Adam (Kirby) wanted. He will fly out just a week before the Dubai World Cup. It will have done his confidence good,” Botti told www.racingpost.com

Planteur, who has earned over £1.5 million in prize money, was bred by the Wildenstein family’s Dayton Investments and won the 2011 G1 Prix Ganay when trained by Elie Lellouche.
