Exciting first-season sire Requinto had a colt on many short lists at the Goresbridge Breeze-Up Sale on Friday after an excellent workout the previous day.
The speedy juvenile, out of the Opening Verse mare Primeshade Promise, eventually sold for €165,000 to David Redvers, acting on behalf of Sheikh Fahad Al Thani’s Qatar Racing.
“He breezed exceptionally well amongst a very strong group of breezers and they have put together a very good bunch of horses here,” said Redvers.
Bred by Benjamin Collins, the colt was consigned from Thomond O’Mara’s Knockanglass Stables.
He followed the Requinto colt now named Broken Stones (2c Requinto-Positive Step, by Footstepsinthesand) who realised 200,000gns at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale in April. Now trained by Kevin Ryan for Matt & Lauren Morgan, he is set to make his racecourse debut at York on Saturday.
