The Peter Schiergen-trained Nymphea (4f Dylan Thomas-Neele, by Peintre Celebre) became Dylan Thomas’s first G1 winner on Sunday when capturing the G1 Grosser Preis von Berlin by three lengths.
The progressive filly made all the running in the Hoppegarten contest, under the trainer’s son Dennis, as she captured a contest won in 2011 by Schiergen’s subsequent Arc heroine Danedream.
“She is a real stayer and I thought that when they came through the final bend that she would win,” the winning trainer told EBN. “You cannot make up ground on this going. I reckon that we might run her in the G1 Grosser Preis von Baden or maybe a stayers’ race in France. We shall see – I need to talk to the owners first.”
Nymphea, who was bred by Juergen Imm and races for Stall Nizza, is out of a sister to the Italian Oaks winner Night Of Magic.
