Henry colt stars in G2 Railway Stakes

Henrythenavigator’s first crop dominated last year’s juvenile scene and his second generation representatives looks to be following suit with Sudirman (2c Henrythenavigator-Shermeen, by Desert Style) starring in Saturday’s G2 Railway Stakes.

The David Wachman-trained colt, who had won a Leopardstown maiden on his previous start, came home half a length clear of Big Time to win the prestigious Curragh six-furlong contest.

“He has been a slow learner, but is improving with each run,” said Wachman. “He might step up to seven furlongs now, but I’ll speak to the owners who were thinking about Glorious Goodwood.”

Sudirman, who is owned Fitri Hay and Mrs John Magnier, was bred in the USA by Kathryn Nikkel and Jeanne Canty. He sold for 200,000 guineas as a yearling.
