Henrythenavigator’s US-sired runners hit the highest mark in Europe and his debut Irish-produced crop made an auspicious start on Sunday.
Hyzenthlay (2f Henrythenavigator-Anka Britannia, by Irish River), trained by Aidan O’Brien and overseen by his son Joseph at Owning Hill, comfortably took a five-furlong maiden at Navan on her first start. Joseph’s sister Ana was riding.
“She was going nicely and showing plenty of speed. It was our first two-year-old to run from the hill and we were not sure what kind of marker we had on them,” said Joseph O’Brien. “We weren’t going to run her because of the ground but she might be a stakes filly.”
Henrythenavigator, who sired three European trained G1 winners when standing in America, is covering for €7,500 in 2016.
