Highclere Thoroughbred Racing’s Sympathy (2f Henrythenavigator-Sweet Temper, by Stormy Atlantic) looked a filly out of the ordinary when winning a Leicester maiden by five lengths on Tuesday.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained daughter of Henrythenavigator is held in high regards by connections and received a quote of 25/1 for next year’s G1 1,000 from bookmakers following this facile triumph.
Alison Begley, representing Highclere Thoroughbred Racing, told the Racing Post: “She was very impressive and Ryan [Moore] was absolutely thrilled with her. She´s a very nice filly.”
Highclere tweeted “Sympathy shows she is something very special with a very easy victory at Leicester” and “Could Sympathy be the new Petrushka? She is certainly a filly to dream about over the winter”.
Sympathy was bred in Kentucky by Hargus and Sandra Sexton and Silver Fern Farm Llc. Having been unsold at Keeneland as a foal, she was bought for €190,000 as yearling at Goffs by John Warren.
