Painted wins for Cliffs

Painted Cliffs (Canford Cliffs) winning his maiden at Leopardstown

First-season sire Canford Cliffs was on the mark again at Leopardstown on Thursday night when Painted Cliffs (2c Canford Cliffs-Lulawin, by Kyllachy) landed a six-furlong maiden.

Donnacha O’Brien steered the Lisieux Stud-bred colt, a 200,000 euros yearling, to a length and a quarter victory.

“I thought he had a good squeak. He was very green on his debut. He loved the quick ground and he has plenty of pace. He was professional today,” said the winning rider.
