Shimmering Surf (5m Danehill Dancer-Sun On The Sea, by Bering) looked better than ever on Saturday when seeing off a good field to win the G3 Pinnacle Stakes at Haydock.
The Danehill Dancer mare, who was bred by Cathal Ryan, fought off Set To Music to take the 12-furlong contest in good style under jockey Neil Callan.
“She stick to her guns and won well. We’ve had her about six months and she’s really thrived. She’s failed to get in foal three times and I’m glad she didn’t now!,” said Callan.
Trainer Roger Varian added: “She ran well at Goodwood on very different ground. I thought she was in similar form and I hoped she’d run well. She might come back to Haydock for the Lancashire Oaks.”
