The brilliantly durable Celebrissime (8g Peintre Celebre-Ring Beaume, by Bering) landed his fifth black-type success when winning the Listed Prix Altipan at Saint-Cloud on Tuesday.
The eight-year-old, was winning the mile contest for a second consecutive year as he was partnered by Olivier Peslier to come home a length and a half clear of his rivals.
After the race, trainer Freddy Head paid tribute to the Wertheimer brothers’ home-bred, who is set to step up to Group 3 company next month.
“He has really held his form, even at eight years old,” trainer Freddy Head told JDG. “Olivier Peslier knows him by heart and really suits him. He likes heavy going and we will run next when the ground is suitable. The next step for him is likely to be the G3 Prix Edmond Blanc on April 9.”
