$100,000 Filly For Cupid at OBS

It was another good result for Tapit’s value son Cupid at the OBS Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds when the Grade I winner saw a filly out of Sensible Shoes sell for $100,000.

Purchased by Jeffrey E. Mackor II as agent for Keith Johnston, the RiceHorse Stable filly had breezed in :10.2 last week.

She is out of a winning Songandaprayer mare, who has produced two winners from two to race with this juvenile’s granddam also producing four winners from six to race. That granddam is also a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade I-placed Glok with another half-sister producing multiple graded stakes winner Straight Line.

Also from the family of Grade I winners Sheer Kingston and Tango Dancer, the filly’s fourth dam is multiple graded stakes winner Go March.

Standing for only $5,000 this year, Cupid’s first crop is averaging $80,000 at the 2-year-old sales with juveniles selling for $190,000, $160,000, ect.
