$110,000 Filly for Cupid at Fasig-Tipton October
The Fasig-Tipton October Yearling Sale has seen top results for Cupid with Hip 335 bringing $110,000 from Dave Stack, the stallion's second six-figure yearling at the sale.
The third most expensive yearling by a first-crop sire at the sale so far, the Cupid filly out of May Be Now was consigned by Perrone Sales for Apache Farm.
Bred in New York, the filly is a half-sister to three-time Grade I winner Ivar and recent juvenile winner Hard Strike. Ivar gave his half-sister’s page an even bigger boost earlier this month when he won the Grade I Shadwell Turf Mile to earn a spot in the Breeders’ Cup Mile next week.
In all, the Group III-winning May Be Now is the dam of four winners from four of racing age and is a half-sister to Grade I winner Al’s Gal, and stakes winner Ann of the Dance from the family of Chile champion Santona.
Standing for $5,000 in 2021, Cupid has already been well-respected in the sales ring where the Grade I winner has seen his first crop sell for up to $200,000 this yearling sales season.
