$200,000 In-Foal Mare Starts Keeneland’s Third Session on High Note for Mendelssohn
The third session of Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock sale started on a high note for Mendelssohn Friday morning when Lady Baker sold in-foal to the stallion for $200,000 to Broadhurst Agency as the first hip through the ring.
A daughter of Pioneerof the Nile, the winning 4-year-old filly is out of Group III winning Peace Royale and was consigned by Hunter Valley Farm. She’s another well-bred mare to visit Scat Daddy’s record breaking son as a half-sister to graded stakes winner Peace In Motion and stakes winner Peace Society with her dam a half-sister to two stakes winners as well.
Mendelssohn has kicked off his Keeneland November debut in fine style this week with mares in foal to the stallion selling for up to $240,000 so far.
