$240,000 Colt for Practical Joke at Fasig-Tipton November

Practical Joke’s popularity continued during the Fasig-Tipton November Sale on Tuesday night when Hip 55 brought $240,000 from Larry Best's OXO Equine LLC to be among the most expensive weanlings of the night.

Consigned by Bluewater Sales and bred by Southern Equine Stables, the impressive colt is the first foal from the winning Unbridled’s Song mare Promisedyouheaven and a grandson of Listed winner Hurricane Bernie. Hurricane Bernie is a half-sister to two-time Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint winner Mizdirection.

The colt follows up a top sale for Practical Joke at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Fall Sale where he had the two most expensive horses to go through the ring. This is the first crop for three-time Grade I winner Practical Joke, who won Grade I races at both two and three years of age.
