$350,000 Colt Kicks Off Maximum Security’s Keeneland September
The first Maximum Security yearling through the ring at this year’s Keeneland September Yearling Sale was a hit when Ben Glass purchased a colt for $350,000.
Offered by Paramount Sales, the colt is out of the Bernardini mare Lady Hester, whose first foal to race is a winner. Bred by Frankfort Park Farm and Bemart LTD, it was the second time he’s gone through the Keeneland ring with Big Bear Bloodstock buying him for $150,000 at last year’s Keeneland November Sale.
This colt is a grandson of U.S. champion Questing, who has produced the Grade III winner Adventuring and Grade II-placed Romantic Pursuits from her two winners. Third dam Cherecuse is also a multiple stakes winner and a half-sister to a stakes winner in Asawer with stakes winners running through the generations in this family. Another Chercheuse daughter produced the dam of Grade III-placed Cover Version.
Maximum has 24 yearlings from his first crop scheduled to go through the ring at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale this year with his last offering selling next Friday.
