$400,000 Filly For Practical Joke at Fasig-Tipton November
Mike Ryan went to $400,000 during the closing session of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings sale on Thursday to secure a filly by Practical Joke.
Consigned by Hunter Valley Farm, the Wildwood Farm and Indian Creek-bred filly had sold for $190,000 as a weanling at Keeneland last November before making her appearance here. She is a half-sister to Grade I-placed Gozilla among the two winners from three to race out of Atlantic Dream.
Placed multiple times as a racemare, Atlantic Dream is a full sister to multiple graded stakes winner Icy Atlantic and half-sister to Grade III winner Wild Promises. Wild Promises went on to producing Grade I winner and the dam on Grade III winner Circle of Trust as a broodmare.
This filly’s page also includes Grade I winners Jolie’s Halo and Southern Image and Grade II winner Cougarized among others.
On top of another brilliant year on the racetrack for his runners, Practical Joke’s yearlings have averaged $156,901 this yearling sales season, led by a $900,000 colt.
