Munnings Book 1 Offerings Led By $700,000 Filly

Munnings saw five of his yearlings sell for no less than $225,000 during the first book of Keeneland September, led by a $700,000 filly purchased during the first session.

Offered by Paramount Sales, the Parks Investment Group offering was snapped up by Steve Young in the middle of the session. This filly received an update just before the catalog was released earlier this summer when her Uncle Mo half-brother Kingsbarns won the Grade I Stephen Foster.

Kingsbarns leads the three winners from three to race out of the Grade III-placed Lady Tapit. That mare is a half-sister to Grade I winner Gozzip Girl and to the dam of the Grade III winning duo Gallileo’s Town and Gianella.

Each of the three dams on this filly’s page have produced at least one stakes winner and one Grade I winner or placer with stakes winning third dam Shapiro’s Mistress the dam of two stakes winners and the Grade I-placed Viz.

Munnings also saw his yearlings sell for $435,000, $300,000, $300,000, and $225,000 for a Book 1 average of $392,000 and median of $300,000.
