Cupid Ready to Strike with Fasig-Tipton Yearlings

An exceptional yearling himself when bringing $900,000, Grade I winner Cupid sees his first yearlings shine at this week’s Fasig-Tipton Selected Yearling Showcase.

The Denali Stud-consigned filly is a half-sister to recent winner Helene Jacqueline, one of two to race out of her dam. That mare is a daughter of Grade III winner Sheets with the stakes success continuing with Sheet Humor’s granddam, stakes placed One Hot Minute.

Cupid’s second shot is Hip 59 from the Paramount Sales consignment during the New York-bred section. The first foal out of the Quality Road mare Snow, the colt’s dam is a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade I placed Quindici Man and Grade II placed Spurrier. The dark bay has plenty of family throughout his page with his pedigree including Grade I winners Wild Rush, Hayil, and Shalaa.

Hip 105 from St George Sales is the second foal out of a daughter of stakes winning Bedside Manner. Bedside Manner herself is also the dam of Grade II winner Skyway, stakes winner and Grade I placed Ava K., and Miss Blarney Stone – the dam of two stakes runners.

War Horse Place sends out Hip 205, a colt out of Lily’s Spark. That mare is already the dam of Competitive Edge’s three-time winner Pretty Edgy from her first foal to race. A daughter of stakes winning Sparklin Lil, Lily’s Spark is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Prayer For Relief and stakes winner Twin Sparks.
