Cupid’s Crush Romps in Frances Genter
It was a second straight stakes victory for Cupids Crush (3f Cupid x Dazzlingsweetheart, by Dazzling Falls) on Saturday night with a romp in the Frances Genter Stakes.
Trained by Nathaniel Quinonez for Xtreme Racing Stable, Cupid’s Crush was happy to keep pressure on the early leader in the six-furlong dirt race. She mounted a serious challenge outside the leader in the turn and that one was no match for the Cupid daughter as they turned into the stretch.
It was clear sailing from there with Cupid’s Crush extending her margin with every stride to win by an easy 11 ¾ lengths. It was the fourth straight victory for the bay, who is undefeated in 2023.
In all, Cupid’s Crush has won five of her seven starts and never been worse than third. She was bred by Mary and Eric Von Seggern and Barry and Joni Butzow out of the stakes winning Dazzlingsweetheart. That mare won this exact race to earn her own blacktype and is out of the stakes placed Sahm Sweetheart, who also produced one other stakes performer.
Each of Cupid’s Crush’s first five dams have all produced stakes winners with each of her first three also earning blacktype themselves.
The sire of 64% winners to runners, Cupid is also the sire of six stakes winners and 11 stakes performers. That group includes the Grade III winner and multiple Grade I placed Desert Dawn among others.
