Duo In Demand For Tiz The Law at Keeneland January

Tiz The Law was responsible for the two most expensive yearlings of the third session at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale on Wednesday, led by NAJD Stud going to $160,000 for a Hunter Valley Farm-consigned colt.

The colt is a half-brother to three winners from three to race, including multi-country runner Gradulations. They are out of the multiple stakes placed Wahgah, who earned her stakes placings in England. That Distorted Humor mare is one of two stakes performers out of her own stakes performing dam Basaata alongside Grade III placed Bashaar.

Each of this colt’s first eight dams have either produced a stakes performer or are a stakes performer with seven stakes producers in that group and three both earning blacktype and producing at least one stakes performer.

The stallion’s second highest priced yearling of the session was a Mulholland Springs-consigned half-sister to the stakes winning Offaly Cool from the family of Grade I winners Slumber and Aptitude. She was purchased by Dixiana Farm for $110,000.

Tiz The Law ended 2024 with the most stakes winners, graded stakes winners, and graded stakes performers of any U.S. freshman stallion and already has a stakes performer in 2025.
