Chief Cicatriz (4g Munnings x Super Buggy, by Grand Slam) kept his unbeaten record intact when racking up his fifth straight win in the $75,000 Phoenix Gold Cup Handicap.
Trained by Shawn Davis, he hopped at the start but recovered quickly to find the lead and then kicked away to win the six furlong sprint by a length and a half as favourite.
He has now won over $126,810 in prizemoney.
