Gotta Go Mo (Uncle Mo) wins Gulfstream Park maiden

Gotta Go Mo Leads Home Coolmore-Sired Trifecta

Gotta Go Mo (3f Uncle Mo x Hard to Stay Notgo, by More Than Ready) lived up to her name on Sunday when bolting to the lead and never looking back in a five furlong maiden at Gulfstream Park.

Racing on the turf, the John Kimmel trainee broke swiftly and went straight to the lead. Pressured early on, Gotta Go Mo shrugged off that challenge and built up her margin around the far turn, entering the stretch a few lengths ahead. While Munnings’ Mane Attraction tried to run her down in the final furlong, the race favorite romped home by an easy 2¾ lengths for owners Kristen Esler, Matt Esler and Tobey Morton.

It was a Coolmore-sired top three with Mane Attraction finishing second and Uncle Mo’s Avuncular in third.

A $425,000 2-year-old purchased by Kimmel at the OBS March 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale from the Sequel Bloodstock consignment, the filly was bred by Chester and Mary Broman. Gotta Go Mo is the first foal out of dual-Listed winning More Than Ready mare Hard To Stay Notgo, who is also a half-sister to two other stakes winners.

The 3-year-old hails from the family of Uncle Mo’s studmate Tale of the Cat and Champion Johannesburg among others.

A leading sire, Uncle Mo has 10 winners from 15 runners out of More Than Ready mares including stakes winning Mo Shopping and Grade II winner Moana.
