Joke Sisi Leads Home G1 Trifecta for Practical Joke
It was another Grade I trifecta for Practical Joke on Saturday when Joke Sisi (3f Practical Joke x Lucky Sisi, by Lookin At Lucky) led the trio in the Group I Clasico Mil Guineas.
The filly took the lead soon out of the gate in the one-mile dirt race with only one horse staying with her for the early stages before giving in around the turn. At that point, the rest of the field wasn’t able to stick with her with Joke Sisi easily winning by 3 ¼ lengths. Salomar was second and Practical Cat rounded out the trifecta with the rest of the field at least 10 lengths behind the winner.
Ridden by Jorge Gonzalez, the Agricola Taomina-bred filly is trained by Juan Pablo Baeza for Identic Stud.
Joke Sisi is out of Lookin At Lucky’s Group II winning daughter Lucky Sisi and comes from the family of Lookin At Lucky’s Group I winner Kurilov in addition to Scat Daddy’s Group I winner Kitcat and Knockout.
In all, there are nine stakes performers under Joke Sisi’s first three dams, led by five Group I winners.
This is the second Group I trifecta for Practical Joke, who saw three juveniles pull off the same feat in late June with a win in the Group I Clasico Tanteo de Potrillos.
