Maximum Security Duo in Offer at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic
Champion Maximum Security has seen his first juveniles sell for up to $230,000 this year and two more enter the ring at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale on Monday.
Offered by Parrish Farms, the first of the duo is Hip 176 out of Mischievious Lass.
Bred by Pedro Gonzales, this is the first foal out of that multiple winner by Into Mischief. Mischievious Lass is a half-sister to the stakes winning Shooger Ray Too and Grade III-placed Awesome Boss from the five winners out of Caftan.
All the dams with racing age foals on the page have either produced a stakes performer or the dam of a stakes performer. His fourth dam Headline leads that charge as the dam of his Grade I winning third dam Jilbab and Group I winner Ancient World. Jilbab didn’t produce any stakes performers herself, but did produce the dam of the stakes placed Abra.
Mischievious Lass visited champion Corniche last year.
Selling late in the day is Three Lyons Racing-bred Hip 230, a filly out of Princess Pao, offered by White Pine Thoroughbreds.
This is another first foal out of a winning mare with the Sky Kingdom mare hitting the board in three of her six starts. Princess Pao is a half-sister to the multiple graded stakes placed Torrent out of the stakes winner and Grade I-placed Tidal Pool.
Tidal Pool is also a granddaughter of Grade I winner’s Pirate Revenge, who is a half-sister to Broodmare of the Year Sweet Life. Sweet Life went on to produce Grade I winners Sweet Catomine and Life Is Sweet.
The first session of the sale, where buyers can find both juveniles, starts at 11am on Monday.
