Maximum Security Filly Wins in France
Maximum Security registered a French winner on Tuesday when daughter Rosa Salvaje (2f Maximum Security x Idle Hour, by Malibu Moon) broke her maiden at Saint-Cloud.
Making her debut in the race, the Christopher Head trainee kicked off her career going seven furlongs on the turf. She broke close to the rail and kept that position to race a few lengths off the leader in midpack during the first four furlongs of the race.
Jockey Stephane Pasquier sat patiently before angling her a few paths off the rail as they raced into the stretch. She was quickly moved back to the inside when a hole opened to give her clear sailing to the line.
Taking the lead inside the final furlong, Rosa Salvaje cruised to a 1 ¼ length victory for an ownership that includes Ecurie Francky Defosse, Haras de l’Hotelleire, Elevage, Frederic Sauque, and her trainer.
Bred by Yeguada Centurion, Rosa Salvaje is the second foal out of the stakes placed Malibu Moon mare Idle Hour. A half-sister to the dam of last year’s Saudi Arabia champion Ibn Toulon, Idle Hour is out of the Grade I winner Downthedustyroad, who produced four winners from seven to race.
A champion racehorse himself, Maximum Security also saw Monarh Bars win in Russia recently.
