Mendelssohn Back To Stables

Mendelssohn Filly Proves Popular at $375,000

Being the first through the ring during Fasig-Tipton Saratoga’s second session was no problem for Mendelssohn’s daughter out of Truc’s Love with Steve Carr taking her home off a $375,000 bid.

Consigned by Four Star Sales after selling for $150,000 as a weanling last October, the Marcus Anthony Scott-bred received an update when her half-brother placed in both of his career starts after the catalog was released. Truc’s Love had already produced stakes winner Jezebel’s Kitten from her first two to race with both of those winning before the catalog was released.

This filly’s second dam is the Grade II-placed Sequence, who is one of three stakes performers for her dam alongside stakes winners All The Moons and Askrania. Producing power is strong in the family with both of those daughters also going on to produce stakes performers.

Connections were so impressed with Truc’s Love that they sent her back to Mendelssohn this year.

Mendelssohn’s three sold averaged $316,667 with his median being an even more impressive $375,000, led by a $425,000 filly during Day 1 of the sale. Mendelssohn has been hot in and out of the sales ring with five winners in 10 days this month.
