Miss Saugerties Easy Winner for Tiz The Law
It was another winner for Tiz The Law on Sunday when daughter Miss Saugerties (2f Tiz The Law x Great Return, by Exchange Rate) won a Woodbine Maiden Special Weight.
Going of as the favorite after registering eye-catching works, the Steve Chircop trainee started her career going five furlongs on the synthetic surface. Just a step behind at the break, she was inside before entering the turn and making a bid for the lead.
It didn’t take much of a challenge to get it and she easily ran away with the lead from there. Urged just enough to keep her mind on her job, Miss Saugerties won by a deceivingly small three lengths.
Racing for Peter Hill and Heather Boyko, the Bo Hirsch-bred filly is the first out of two-time winner Great Return. That mare is a full sister to Grade III winner Exfactor and half-sister to stakes winner Market Magic.
This is also the family of champions Good Magic and Handsome Franco.
This is the sixth winner for four-time Grade 1 winner Tiz The Law, putting him fifth overall among freshman sires.
