Mo’ Green Wins Top Flight Invitational
Opening her Black Type account with a dominant win in the $196,000 Grade III Top Flight Invitational Stakes at Aqueduct on the weekend was Mo’ Green (4m Uncle Mo x She’s a Rebel Too, by Two Punch).
A winner of three races and Grade II placed previously, Mo’ Green was having her first run for new trainer John Servis and produced a career best performance.
She powered clear to win the 1 and 1/8th mile contest by more than three lengths taking her overall record to four wins and four placings from 11 starts with prizemoney just shy of $260,000.
“This is the first time I've run her and I was a little concerned about her in the paddock, she seemed very quiet,” admitted Servis.
“I asked the owners, ‘is she always like this? And they said, ‘No, she’s usually ramped up.’ Then when she broke, she broke so sharp I knew I didn't have to worry about her being quiet. She put herself into the race and had a perfect trip. When they leave there running, they usually put themselves in good positions and [Irad Ortiz, Jr.] was really just able to sit on her until the eighth pole, really.”
A half-sister to stakes-placed Brother in Arms from stakes-placed She’s a Rebel Too, Mo’ Green is the best of four winners from her dam and is the 27th stakes-winner for Uncle Mo.
