Munnings Mare Easily Wins Second Stakes
It was a second stakes win in her last three starts for Take Me Serious (5m Munnings x Southern Equity, by After Market) when she won the More Than Even Stakes by 3 ¾ lengths.
Take Me Serious took the lead almost immediately in the one-mile dirt race before opening up a few lengths to hold a comfortable lead. A heavy favorite, Take Me Serious was allowed to keep pulling away from the field around the track and had six lengths in hand by the time she reached the final furlong.
Kept to task just enough to stay focused, Take Me Serious easily galloped to her 3 ¾ length victory for trainer Joe Offolter and owner-breeder Bryan Hawk.
Take Me Serious has won five of her 10 career starts with four other top three finishes, including a three-race win streak that included the Miranda Diane Stakes. She also finished second in the Wilma Mankiller Stakes in her four stakes races.
Take Me Serious is one of two winners from three to race out of the stakes-placed Southern Equity. Out of the multiple graded stakes winner Humoristic, Southern Equity is a half-sister to the multiple stakes placed duo of Easy Crossing and Quick Witted.
Munnings has sired five stakes winners and 12 stakes performers in 2024, eighth best of all North American sires in both categories.
