My Beautiful Belle (Munnings) Wins Regret Stakes at Monmouth Park

My Beautiful Belle 70th Stakes Winner For Munnings

It was a milestone 70th stakes winner for Munnings on Saturday when stakes placed My Beautiful Belle (5m Munnings x Winiliscious, by Lawyer Ron) won the Regret Stakes at Monmouth Park.

The Munnings mare was in the mix for the lead early in the six furlong race before dropping just a few lengths off a dueling trio of leaders down the backstretch. My Beautiful Belle was keen as they entered the turn and went widest of all to circle the field as they worked their way to the stretch.

My Beautiful Belle got her head in front in midstretch but still had to battle hard with one of the longtime leaders refusing to give in. She built her lead close to the line to win by 1 ½ lengths for her sixth career victory with eight other top three finishes in 24 starts.

My Beautiful Belle is trained by co-owner Chuck Spina, who owns her with breeders Joseph and Gayle Ioia.

My Beautiful Belle is the second stakes winner for multiple stakes placed Winiliscious, who is also the dam of Uncle Mo’s stakes winning Lil Miss Moppet. Their dam is one of three stakes producers out of Wini Jones with another one of her daughters producing Grade III winner Gentle Ruler.

Munnings’ nine stakes winners in 2023 is fourth best of all stallions while his 70 stakes winners puts him 14th among all active North American stallions with most of the stallions above him having more than 200 more runners than Munnings.
