Penguin Parade Newest Winner For Cupid
Less than a month after finishing third on debut, Penguin Parade (2c Cupid x Said In Silence, by Bernstein) became his sire’s newest Maiden Special Weight winner.
The 6 ½ furlong dirt race at Charles Town saw Penguin Parade sprint to the lead and race just off the leader in second. He kept the pressure on the leader for the first half of the race before taking over the lead in the final two furlongs.
Penguin Parade put in a workmanlike performance to win by a neck as his sire’s 13th winner.
Penguin Parade is a grandson of Grade III winner Silent Greeting, who produced stakes winners Trophy Collector and Night Breeze among her 11 winners from 11 foals. Penguin Parade’s winning dam Said In Silence is following in her footsteps as the dam of two winners from two to race.
Cupid’s 13 winners include two stakes winners and three stakes performers with his daughter Desert Dawn contesting the Grade I Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies on Friday.
