Practical Joke Juveniles On Display At Tattersalls
Already a hit at the U.S. juvenile sales this spring, Practical Joke sees two of his 2-year-olds go through the ring at this week’s Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale.
Both offered within 20 lots of each other, his first through the ring is Lot 71. A half-sister to Tale of the Cat’s Group II-placed Rebel Tale, the filly is out of a half-sister to three stakes horses with three other half-sisters producing stakes winners. From the family of Grade I winners Bullards Alley and Archarcharch among 18 stakes winners, dam Purr And Prowl also has a yearling colt by Air Force Blue.
Bred by Parrish Hill Farm and Ashford Stud, this 2-year-old filly was a $185,000 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale weanling purchase by Brookstone Farm. This time through the ring, she is offered by Tally-Ho Stud.
Lot 90 offered by Powerstown Stud is a colt out of Sky Saver from the family of multiple Grade I winners Octave and Ms Eloise. Sky Saver herself is a half-sister to two graded-stakes placed runners and a granddaughter of stakes winner Belle Nuit. A $75,000 yearling last September, this colt was bred by Ramspring Farm.
The sire of the OBS March sale topper last month and an $800,000 filly at this month’s Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale, triple Grade I winner Practical Joke has seen his first 2-year-olds $335,454 from 11 sold.
