Practical Joke's Little Vic Easy Winner of Gulfstream Maiden Special Weight
Little Vic (2c Practical Joke x Rock and Glory, by Rock Hard Ten) kicked off a huge day for Practical Joke on Saturday by winning a Gulfstream Park Maiden Special Weight.
Breaking strongly, the Victoria’s Ranch runner took command from the start and ended the race almost before it began. He held a length on the rest of the field for much of the six furlong dirt event before extending down the stretch.
Jockey Carlos Olivero asked for a little more in the final furlong and Little Vic responded to win by 3 ½ lengths with the third place runner over five lengths behind.
Trained by Juan Avila, Little Vic was bred in Kentucky by Stride Sales and Syndicate out of the three-time stakes winner Rock And Glory.
Rock And Glory is also a half-sister to multiple stakes-placed Gorgeous Ginny and out of Grade II winner Brooke’s Halo. A triple Grade I winner who proved to be popular with buyers at the sales, Practical Joke has lived up to expectations with 12 winners and two stakes winners – both categories bested by only Caravaggio.
