Respect The Law Second Friday Tiz The Law Winner
It was a two-winner day for Tiz The Law on Friday when Respect The Law (2f Tiz The Law x Hrasky, by Speightstown) became another winner for her sire.
Lining up just a few hours after his Saratoga winner, Respect the Law was fast out of the gate in the 5 ½ furlong turf race to immediately take the lead. There wasn’t any time to breathe, however, with another horse pushing her throughout the run with the rest of the field a few lengths behind.
Running into the stretch, Respect the Law started to pull away from the only horse near her and was a clear winner when an eased down 1 1/2 lengths in front at the wire.
Trained by Richard Sillaman for LBR Racing Stable, it was the second start for the Spendthrift bred. She is the first foal out of Hrasky, who was purchased by Spendthrift for $120,000 while carrying the filly.
Hrasky is a half-sister to Grade II winner Ready to Act, who produced multiple Grade III placed Mubakker. They come from the family of Grade I winners Mast Track and Jemayel and Munnings’ stakes winner Swill.
Respect the Law is the third winner in just over 24 hours by her sire with his nine winners overall putting him fourth among all freshmen so far this year.
