Runforthemunnings Impressive Winner For Munnings

Runforthemunnings (3c Munnings x Lanett Lady, by Teuflesberg) was the latest impressive winner for Munnings when bolting home to win at Laurel Park on Monday.

The Jeremiah Englehart trainee didn’t give anyone a chance in the 5½ furlong race, quickly going to the lead after the break. He opened up multiple lengths on the field soon after taking charge and extended that margin to six lengths by the time he hit the final furlong.

He wasn’t done building his margin just yet, pulling away to win by an impressive 10¾ lengths for owner and co-breeder Dewberry Thoroughbreds for his second career win. The colt has burst onto the scene in 2019 with two victories and just half a length keeping him from two more wins when finishing second in each of his last two starts.

Co-bred by Dewberry Thoroughbreds, John Dewberry, and Nicky Hartey, the dark bay is one of three winners from four to race out of Lanett Lady. The mare was served by Munnings again in 2019 for a full sibling to Runforthemunnings.

The sire of 10 stakes winners in 2019, Munnings has quickly proven to be a top value sire with 35 career stakes winners and a leading sire of 2-year-olds this season.
