Sioux Nation Fillies Add More Black-Type Wins To Their Records

Sioux Life (3f Sioux Nation – Ninepins, by Rip Van Winkle) returned on Sunday to record her fourth blacktype win in the Group 3 Premio Verziere Memorial Aldo Cirla at San Siro.

The Endo Botti-trained filly stepped up to ten furlongs for the first time as she made her first start since April. Settled towards the back of the field by Dario Di Tocco, she was shaken up three furlongs from home and ran on well to lead two furlongs later. She kept on to score by three parts of a length, while Tomiko (Footstepsinthesand) took third.

Owned by La Tesa Spa, the bay was bred in Italy by Allevamento Le Gi Srl Societa’ Agricola.

Endo Botti and Dario Di Tocco enjoyed a Stakes double with Sioux Nation fillies on the card, as Estrosa (4f Sioux Nation – Eclairante, by High Chaparral) gained her fifth Listed success in the Elena E Segrio Cuma.

The bay raced prominently throughout the mile contest, improving to lead a furlong out and kept on to score by half a length. French raider Saxon Girl (Saxon Warrior) gained her second black-type placing in third.

Owned by Alma Racing, Estrosa was runner-up in the Italian 1,000 Guineas last season. The Charel Bloodstock-bred filly is closely related to stablemate Mysterious Shadow (Ten Sovereigns), herself a dual Stakes winner.

Sioux Nation sired a total of three Stakes winners over the weekend, with Johnny Murtagh’s progressive sprinter Oujda having landed a Listed prize at the Curragh the previous day.
