Successful Book 3 For Munnings at Keeneland September
It was a successful Book 3 at the Keeneland September Sale for Munnings when his offerings sold for up to $575,000 over the two days.
That $575,000 filly was purchased by West Bloodstock on behalf of Repole Stable from Grovendale Sales. The filly is out of the stakes placed Oh Carole, who herself is out of a half-sister to champion Escena and Grade II winner Humbel in addition to Grade III winner Showlady.
In all, there are nine stakes performers under the filly’s first three dams.
Munnings’ second most expensive of the book was a $400,000 filly purchased by Tracy Farmer from Cara Bloodstock. The filly is a half-sister to Queen’s Plate winner Safe Conduct out of a half-sister to Canadian Horse of the Year Fatal Bullet.
A Canadian-bred, the filly is also from the family of eight-time Canadian champion Pink Lloyd.
All but three of the 22 yearlings by Munnings sold in Book 3 brought six figures with an average of $191,136 and median of $155,000. Others by Munnings over the weekend sold for $320,000, $300,000, $210,000, etc.
