Tiz The Law Set For Big November With First Weanlings
Four-time Grade I winner Tiz The Law is set to be represented at this year’s November breeding stock sales by weanlings at both the Fasig-Tipton and Keeneland sales.
The first four of those weanlings come on Sunday at the Fasig-Tipton November sale, starting with Hip 46.
Offered by Vinery Sales, the colt is a half-brother to Uncle Mo’s stakes placed Del Mo from his dam’s first runner. That mare, No Lip Service, is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Listen Here, stakes winner Indy Bird, and stakes placed Listen and Parade the Flag. Listen is also the dam of Grade I winner La Coronel. There are stakes performers under all three dams on the page with his third dam being the dam of Grade I winner Listening and Grade II winner Beautiful Noise.
Pope McLean’s Crestwood Farm offers the second foal out of the multiple graded stakes placed Promise of Spring as Hip 61. Out of a full sister to stakes-placed Moreno’s Mine, Promise of Spring herself is a half sister to eight-time winner and Mexican champion Mi Vecino and two other winners from the four to race out of Best of Times.
Promise of Spring’s first foal is a Mendelssohn colt who sold for $100,000 at this year’s Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
The second-to-last Tiz The Law weanling to go through the ring is a colt out of the winning Into Mischief mare Breaking Beauty. Offered as Hip 135 from Hunter Valley Farm, the colt is a grandson of German classic winner Que Belle, who also produced multiple graded stakes winner Osidy, Grade III winner Quetsche and six other winners from nine to race.
Denali Stud offers the last Tiz The Law weanling of the Fasig-Tipton November sale as Hip 165. That filly is out of Group III winner Entangle, who won 13 of her 21 starts. Entangle is also the dam of stakes winner Dalarna and three other winners from five to race. Her own half-sisters have produced stakes winners Miss Work of Art, Queen of Love, and Dark Liberty with eight stakes performers listed under this filly’s second dam.

Moving across town on Monday, Tiz The Law has 22 weanlings on offer at Keeneland’s November Breeding Stock Sale over the 10 session sale.
The week kicks off with seven on offer during the second session, led by Hip 278.
Offered by Hidden Brook, the colt comes into the ring with an update after his dam’s half-brother Play Action Pass won the Gun Runner Stakes at Kentucky Downs in September. Play Action Pass is the third stakes winning sibling for Bourbon Endowment, who won two races during her own career. Her other two siblings are multiple graded stakes winner Laura’s Light and stakes winner and multiple graded stakes-placed Barry Lee.
Stone Farm offers Hip 572 on behalf of Payson Stud, a granddaughter of Grade I winner Rutherienne. The filly is out of Rutherienne’s three-time winning Candy Ride daughter Sweetbaby, who also has a yearling.
Rutherienne is a half-sister to Grade III winner Ruthenia and stakes winner Ruthville with Ruthenia producing two stakes winners herself. This is also the family of stakes winner Force and Scandinavian champion Lady of Course.
Vinery Sales’ Hip 597 registered a second stakes winning sibling this fall when 2-year-old Firing Bullets won the Woodbine Cares Stakes. The duo is out of Twisted Beauty, who has two stakes winners from two to race with her daughter I Get It also a stakes winner and Grade III-placed runner. This is also the family of champion Summer Bird, Tapit, Rubiano, and others.
Hip 815 from Gainesway is a half-sister to a dual Grade I winner in Avenge, a stakes winner in Lira, and a Group III-placed colt in Pistoletto. Lira is also the dam of Uncle Mo’s stakes winner Lia Marina. Their dam Lerici has produced seven winners from nine to race overall and was a winner herself. She’s far from the only producer under her dam Balinese, whose half-sisters produced horses such as Grade III winner and Grade I-placed Grasshopper, stakes winners Turf War and Straw Hat and Grade I-placed Easy Grades.
Hip 1143 offered by Taylor Made Sales is out of the Grade I winner Funny Moon. That mare has proven to be a successful producer as well with five of her six runners winning at least one race, led by dual Grade II-placed This Tea.
Funny Moon is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Throng and stakes-placed Home Crowd in addition to two stakes performers. Their own dam is a half-sister to champion Vanlandingham and a daughter of a half-sister to champion Temperence Hill.
Out of a half-sister to Grade I winner Appealing Zophie comes Hip 1266 from Greenfield Farms.
The filly is out of the Malibu Moon mare Noon Moon, who is the dam of one winner from two to race. Appealing Zophie herself is the dam of Grade I winner Tapwrit, multiple graded stakes winner Ride a Comet, and stakes winner Inject with two of her daughters also producing stakes performers.
