Tiz The Law Weanlings In High Demand at Keeneland
The first Tiz The Law weanlings received a warm reception in the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale ring this week, led by a $270,000 colt.
Purchased by Chad Schumer from Eaton Sales, the colt is a half-brother to stakes winner and Grade I-placed Uncle Benny. The duo is out of a daughter of dual Grade I winner Starrer, who is a half-sister to Grade III-placed Movie Moment and stakes-placed Star Act.
Starrer is one of two Grade I winners for multiple graded stakes placed To The Hunt alongside multiple Grade I winner Stellar Jayne. Another one of Starrer’s half-sisters is the dam of Grade I winner Star Billing.
Chestnut Valley Farm purchased another Tiz The Law colt from Eaton Sales for $190,000 as the second most expensive for his sire.
The colt is the second foal out of the winning Malibu Moon mare Kathy’s Clown, a half-sister of multiple stakes placed Malibu Flame. They dam is a half-sister to Grade II winner Raw Silk, who also produced stakes placed Tailor’s Row.
Tiz The Law’s third most expensive was a $160,000 purchase by Rascal Bloodstock from Hunter Valley Farm.
The second foal out of the Arch mare Enough, he comes from the family of Grade I winner Combatant and Grade III winner Long Lashes. Enough is a half-sister to stakes winner Plethora and stakes-placed Congo with the two dams on the page with runners both producing stakes performers.
Tiz The Law was a Grade I winner as a 2-year-old and followed that up with three Grade I wins at three, led by a 3 ¾ length victory in the Grade I Belmont Stakes.
