Tiz the Law's First Foal Born At Ashford

The first foal by multiple Grade 1 winner Tiz the Law, a colt out of stakes producer Celebrity Cat (Storm Cat), was born on January 28 at Ashford Stud.

Celebrity Cat is already the dam of Uncle Benny (Declaration of War), winner of the 2018 Futurity Stakes and 2019 Allied Forces Stakes, both at Belmont Park. Uncle Benny was also second in the 2018 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1T) at Churchill Downs. A $1.2 million Keeneland September Yearling Sale purchase, the unraced Celebrity Cat is out of the multiple Grade 1 winner and millionaire Dynaformer mare Starrer. This is also the family of Grade 1 winners Stellar Jayne and Star Billing.

Tiz the Law, a 5-year-old son of Constitution, won the Champagne Stakes (G1) by 4 lengths at 2 and reeled off top-level victories at 3 in 2019 in the Florida Derby (G1), Belmont Stakes (G1) and Travers Stakes (G1) while later finishing second in the Kentucky Derby (G1). Trained by Barclay Tagg for Sackatoga Stable, the New York-bred earned $2,735,300.
