Tiz The Law’s Silent Law Romps In Debut
The Bob Baffert-trained Silent Law (2f Tiz The Law x Southern Silence, by Dixie Union) was the latest debut winner for her sire on Saturday with a 10 length romp at Los Alamitos.
The filly quickly settled into second in the five-furlong race after the break, but didn’t stay in that position for long. Racing into the turn, Silent Law flew past the early leader and was fully in control from there.
Jockey Juan Hernandez spent the stretch run looking behind him as the filly breezed to a 10-length victory to kick off her career.
Silent Law was a $400,000 purchase by Bill Childs from Tom McCrocklin earlier this year at the OBS April Sale and races for CSLR Racing Partners.
The filly was bred by Newstead Corp out of the Dixie Union mare Southern Silence. Of her five winners, four have blacktype with Liberate and Esplanande winning at the stakes level and Stealth Mode and Condemnation placing in stakes.
The filly’s dual Grade I winning fourth dam Taisez Vous is the matriarch of a stakes rich family with those descending from the mare including champions Pinball Wizard and Snappy John, Grade II winner Highway Star, and more.
Tiz The Law’s 12 winners through Saturday puts him 11th among all North American sires by number of 2-year-old winners while his two stakes winners ties him for second in the rankings.
