Well-Bred Practical Joke Filly Sells for $150,000
The first sale of the year proved to be successful for Practical Joke when his Hip 321 at the Keeneland January Sale sold for $150,000 to Andrew Lynch.
Born on March 25, the filly was bred by Fergus Galvin and Jayne Johnson and consigned by Hunter Valley Farm.
Out of stakes placed Lady Diplomat, the filly is a half-sister to three stakes winners, including the dam of Grade II winner Lively Lively and granddam of Horse of the Year contender Mitole. Blacktype runs deep in the family with Lady Diplomat out of stakes winning Mercedes Miss, the dam of three stakes horses.
Into Mischief’s best son, Practical Joke’s first crop have sold for up to $260,000 with an average of $109,952 for his first weanlings last year.
