American Pharoah

American Pharoah was a Champion at two and three, in addition to winning the Triple Crown, he was one of the easiest winners of the Breeders’ Cup Classic and became Horse of the Year. He has quickly proved his worth as a high-class and versatile young sire. Predictably, his stud success has translated into sales success, with each of his first four crops producing seven-figure yearlings.

American Pharoah has a valuable outcross pedigree. MR PROSPECTOR is back in the sixth generation of his foals and he is free of stallions such as SEATTLE SLEW, DANZIG, SADLER’S WELLS, DEPUTY MINISTER, ROBERTO and HALO. Even STORM CAT is back in the fourth generation of his foals.

American Pharoah’s Gr.1-winning half-sister Chasing Yesterday is by TAPIT and five of his first six runners out of TAPIT mares are winners, including Gr.1 winner Harvey’s Lil Goil. TAPIT is a grandson of A.P. INDY and American Pharoah already has SWs out of mares by A.P. Indy’s sons FLATTER (Gr.2 winner Merneith is inbred 4x4 to UNBRIDLED) and A.P. WARRIOR.

He has numerous options from the MR PROSPECTOR male line. His first Group winner, the speedy Maven, is out of a grand-daughter of DISTORTED HUMOR, while his smart Japanese dirt horse Danon Pharaoh is out of a grand-daughter of MR GREELEY.

American Pharoah when mated with a SADLER’S WELLS mare sired Gr.1 2YO winner Van Gogh. His first 11 starters out of GALILEO mares included four Group performers, headed by Gr.2 winner Pista and Gr.1-placed Monarch of Egypt. His first starter out of a MEDAGLIA D’ORO mare was the Saratoga Listed winner Another Miracle.

He sired Gr.2 winner Four Wheel Drive and Japanese Gr.1 dirt winner Café Pharoah from daughters of MORE THAN READY. This calls for more mares with HALO blood.

GIANT’S CAUSEWAY is broodmare sire of his useful French winner Ocean Atlantique. His Gr.2 winner Sweet Melania has a dam by DISCREET CAT and is therefore inbred 4x4 to STORM CAT, as is Gr.3 winner Turned Aside. Gr.2 winner Pista has a second dam by STORM CAT and is therefore inbred 4x3. American Pharoah’s first starter out of a SCAT DADDY mare is the 2021 Grade 1-placed juvenile Stakes winner Mackinnon.

His speedy Gr.3-winning son Turned Aside has a dam by WAR FRONT and his talented Irish filly Willow has a dam by DANEHILL. This suggests more DANZIG blood will suit American Pharoah.

His Gr.2 winner As Time Goes By has a dam by DEHERE and SW Fi Fi Pharoah is out of a GHOSTZAPPER mare.
