Munnings

A high-class sprinter like his sire Speightstown, Munnings played a leading role in establishing Speightstown as a sire of sires. Although four of Munnings’ first five crops were sired at $10,000, these five crops have produced 37 SWs. Success has bred more success, to the extent that Munnings’s fee has risen substantially. His sixth crop, sired at $25,000, produced the Gr.1 winner Kimari, while Finite, Bonny South, Venetian Harbor and Ginobili all scored at Gr.2 level. His 2019 crop, led by the Gr.1 winners Jack Christopher and Eda, has also excelled. All this success led to some fine results for vendors of Munnings’ yearlings at the 2023 sales. Off a $40,000 fee, they averaged $217,000, for a median of $200,000. For mating suggestions on Munnings turn to his best son Jack Christopher.
