$1 Million Colt Leads Justify Offerings at Keeneland

Justify is once again on-fire on the track this year and proved to be popular at Keeneland September as well this week with his offerings led by a $1 million colt.

Purchased by connections familiar to Justify in China Horse Club, Maverick Racing, and Siena Racing, the colt was consigned by Woods Edge Farm. Out of the Lawyer Ron mare Undercover Justice, the colt bred by Justice Stable had been a $400,000 short yearling purchase here by P B Bloodstock in January.

Out of a half-sister to Canadian champion and Grade I winner Negligee, he is a half-brother to Uncle Mo’s Grade III placed Conquest Babayaga and the stakes placed Sorrentina Lemon. The page also includes Grade I winner Olympic Jolteon with at least one stakes performer under each of his first four dams.

Godolphin purchased a $950,000 colt out of Grade III-placed More Fun Again from St. George Sales during the first session.

Bred by Threave Main Stud, the colt’s American Pharoah half-sister won twice after the catalog was released as the first foal out of their dam. More Fun Again is one of four stakes performers out of Grade III winner Silver Reunion That mare also produced Grade II winner Speaktomeofsummer and stakes winner Proud Reunion in addition to the Grade III-placed Ever Summer.

The page also includes this year’s Grade III Peter Pan winner Antiquarian and Australian stakes winner Left the Building.

The 13 yearlings sold by Justify during book one brought a gross of $6.275 million with an average of $482,692 and median of $400,000.
