Calyx Colt Gets Off The Mark In Fine Style
Spirit Lead Me (2c Calyx – Fern, by War Command) justified strong market support to get off the mark at Kempton on Wednesday afternoon.
Stepping up to a mile for the first time, the Richard Hughes-trained colt gave favourite-backers cause for concern when slowly away under Finley Marsh. Making headway before the two furlong pole, he led a furlong later and ran on well to score by three and a quarter lengths.
The second crop son of Calyx is owned by Eamon Kelly and was bred by Ms Alice Fitzgerald.
