Game Calyx Filly Lands Listed Prize

It Ain’t Two (2f Calyx – Usra, by Requinto) dug deep to gain her first black-type win in Friday’s Bosra Sham Fillies’ Stakes at Newmarket.

The Hugo Palmer-trained filly came into the Listed race with three wins to her name and was last seen finishing second against colts in a Listed sprint at York. Racing prominently throughout on Friday, she was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong and kept on gamely to prevail by a nose on the line.

“I'm delighted,” the winning trainer said. “She’s as tough a filly as I've ever had anything to do with. I wouldn't bet against her training on. She's so tough and I think she'll grow a bit. What we do with her next I don't know – we might see if there are any Californian options for her next month.”

Bred by Crypto Bloodstock, the daughter of Calyx is owned by Ms Diamond and Owen Promotions Ltd.
