240,000gns Zoffany colt leads way
Mark Richards of the Hong Kong Jockey Club was among Zoffany’s many fans during Book 2 of the October Yearling Sale at Tattersalls this week.
Richards delighted breeders B B Bloodstock when paying 240,000gns for a Zoffany colt out of G2-placed Mister Baileys mare Bahia Breeze.
The colt grew up at Pantile Stud and farm manager Bo Hicks-Little said: "He has always been a lovely colt and we nicknamed him Romeo as a result! I am so pleased for B B Bloodstock - they are fantastic people and it is a wonderful thing to happen."
A Zoffany filly sharing her grandam, Superstar Leo, with recent G1 Prix de la Foret winner One Master (by Fastnet Rock) was bought for 120,000gns by Amanda Skiffington and Kim Nardelli while other Zoffanys made 110,000gns (Joseph O’Brien), 100,000gns (John & Jake Warren) etc.
