4-length No Nay Never winner is “proper horse” - Dascombe
Jonah Jones (2c No Nay Never-Conniption, by Danehill Dancer) looks set to step up in class after running away with a Haydock novices’ event on Thursday.
After finishing a promising third at York on his debut last month, the No Nay Never colt was sent off odds-on favourite for this six-furlong contest and drew clear in the final stages for an ultra-impressive victory.
“Jonah Jones is a proper horse by a very good stallion,” said trainer Tom Dascombe. “Richard (Kingscote) was sympathetic on him at York as the race had gone and we expected him to win today. I'll have to decide with his owner what we do next, but we'll be looking at the likes of Newmarket, York and Goodwood.”
Bred by Frank Hutchinson, Jonah Jones made 60,000gns as a yearling when bought by SackvilleDonald from the Manister House Stud consignment at Tattersalls.
