450,000gns No Nay Never colt stars at Tatts Book 2
Not only has No Nay Never been the first-crop star sire of 2018, he has also been the great success story of the autumn yearling sales.
After brilliant results at the Goffs Orby Sale and Tattersalls October Book 1, his second-crop yearlings have been all the rage at Tattersalls October Book 2 in Newmarket this week.
On Wednesday, agent Alex Elliott went to 450,000gns for a No Nay Never colt out of Fayr Jag’s sister Jacquelin Jag offered from Paul and Marie McCartan’s Ballyphilip Stud.
Elliott was acting for football agent Kia Joorabchian’s Amo Racing Ltd and commented: “This horse is a perfect physical, he is hard to fault and, of course, No Nay Never has carried all before him this year. We probably stretched a little, but we are looking for horses for Royal Ascot.
"We bought three in Book 1 and I am delighted we have secured this colt - he was on the 'must have' list."
Richard Hannon is set to take charge of No a Nay Never colt out of the Street Cry mare Whitefall, bought for 320,000gns from Kilminfoyle House Stud by Ross Doyle.
“The stallion needs no explanation. What he has done from a normal-sized crop is remarkable and this was a good moving, strongly-made type,” said Doyle.
Other prices for No Nay Nevers included 260,000gns (Kingcraft Bloodstock), 250,000gns (SackvilleDonald), 200,000gns (Charlie Gordon-Watson/M V Magnier) etc.
