Wootton Bassett X Imperial Lass yearling filly

$500,000 for Wootton Bassett Filly

The first Australian yearlings by Wootton Bassett have lit up Australasian sale rings this year with more strong results at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale on Sunday with a $500,000 filly from Group I placed Imperial Lass his star offering.

Consigned by Torryburn Stud, the half-sister to multiple Group winner Straight Arron was bought by Glentree Thoroughbreds / Badgers Bloodstock and comes from a family packed with Black Type winners including champions Lonhro and Lankan Rupee, while her dam is a three-quarter sister to Group I ATC Australian Derby winner Tavago.

Other good sales for Wootton Bassett were two Coolmore consigned fillies from I’ll Have a Bit and Paulowinia that made $450,000 and $420,000 respectively when purchased by Suman Hedge Bloodstock and Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott / Kestrel Thoroughbreds.

Wootton Bassett has 11 more entries for Monday.
